CLOVER TREFOIL LUCERNE

RED CLOVER

Capable of producing 12 tonnes/ha of dry matter a year, Red Clover deserves more widespread use. Its nitrogen fixing capability coupled with its protein and D-Value are worthwhile bonuses in an organic system. Two main cuts per year plus smaller autumn one make Red Clover ideal for silage.

WHITE CLOVER

Highly digestible swards for grazing and cutting are essential tools for today's livestock farmers. Grazed clover/grass swards are the cheapest and best feed available. White Clover retains a high digestibility of around 75D for a much longer period of time than grasses. A worthwhile proportion of White Clover in a sward will maintain a high D-Value feed which in turn encourages greater intake, raising animal performance significantly whether it is milk, beef or lamb.
